Consisting of three basic ingredients\, oil\, water\, and a high-pH reactant (we usually use lye)\, soap’s main job is to separate oil and water\, which allows the oils and grime to be washed away. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the three basic ingredients\, there is an endless number of additions that can be used to enhance the smell and color\, change the cleaning properties\, and affect the hardness of the bar\, and the softness of the feel. \n\n\n\nHomemade soap takes about 6 weeks to cure\, so the batch you create in class will make for perfect gifts to give to friends and family for Christmas.

Of course you can buy the books\, or even borrow from your local library. Most times we are reading selections from a variety of a handful of books\, each selection building upon the previous\, to provide greater understanding and enjoyment.We meet weekly in Candia\, at 4:30 on Sunday. Tea and light refreshments are offered\, $5 suggested donation. Then\, we’ll take a look at an online soap calculator\, which will allow us to plug in desired traits and get the exact measurements of the ingredients required. \n\n\n\nThen\, we will move to the soap lab and mix up our batch.

DESCRIPTION:Bring a backpack full of hiking supplies\, water bottle\, etc. I’ll be wearing a plate carrier and plenty of magazines and a rifle. \n\n\n\nLast month\, we did an easy hike around the campground a couple times. This month\, we’re going to repeat the southern route for a demanding 3-1/2 mile hike with a total 600-ft rise over three hills. The last time we did this\, the snow made the steep downhill snowmobile track a bit treacherous\, but it should be better in April. Or not. Remember you can’t design your path when it comes time to bug-the-hell-out. \n\n\n\nThis is a free-of-charge\, open-carry event. This will be held rain or shine\, snow or heat wave. It is designed to prepare you for bugging out. In real life\, you don’t get to wait until a nice sunny day to get moving. \n\n\n\nOptional shooting after. Range donations accepted. If you want to bring after-hike protein\, we’ll have the grill fired up. And the campfire. Your libation and smoke of choice is always welcome\, just no shooting once you start imbibing.

DESCRIPTION:Garnet School is pleased to announce a partnership with Project Appleseed\, a nationwide group committed to upholding the values and principles of America’s founding fathers. They use rifle marksmanship instruction as a gateway to help bring our nation’s history to life and to show that many of the values that our forefathers relied on to win our independence are still very much in demand today. \n\n\n\nMost Appleseed events are two days\, usually a Saturday and Sunday. Since the partnership between Appleseed and Garnet School is new\, we figured a one-day event would be a good way to make sure our facilities and philosophies are in alignment. \n\n\n\nSo please try to join us on April 6th for a full day of rifleman training and so you can check out the goals and activities of this organization. DESCRIPTION:Soap is one of the fundamental inventions that created the modern world. Consisting of three basic ingredients\, oil\, water\, and a high-pH reactant (we usually use lye)\, soap’s main job is to separate oil and water\, which allows the oils and grime to be washed away. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the three basic ingredients\, there is an endless number of additions that can be used to enhance the smell and color\, change the cleaning properties\, and affect the hardness of the bar\, and the softness of the feel. \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, we start in the classroom to learn about the chemical processes happening when you make soap and when you use it. Then\, we’ll take a look at an online soap calculator\, which will allow us to plug in desired traits and get the exact measurements of the ingredients required. \n\n\n\nThen\, we will move to the soap lab and mix up our batch. \n\n\n\nEach student has a soap mold that makes four bars of soap. When the mix is ready\, we pour the so-called batter into each of these molds. \n\n\n\nThe mixture must cool down over night\, but in the morning can be cut into individual bars. The bars will take about six weeks to cure\, during which time it will lose some of the water content and become harder. But mostly\, the curing time will allow the chemicals to get to know each other so they can work together to keep us clean.

SUMMARY:Build Your Own AR-15
DESCRIPTION:In this full-day workshop\, you will be able to build your own AR-15-class rifle\, shoot it\, and take it home. There’s nothing like putting every piece in place to give you an appreciation of the construction of this machine\, while at the same time giving you a detailed knowledge of its construction and being able to fix any problem that might arise. \n\n\n\nThis is an all-day workshop\, led by a certified armorer. In addition\, there will be an FFL (Federally-licensed firearms dealer) to process your ATF Form 4473 So\, while you are building your gun\, he will be getting the appropriate license for you. \n\n\n\nOnce your gun is assembled\, you’ll take it out to the range to zero it in and do some test firing. This is all done at the Garnet School gun range. \n\n\n\nAt the end of the day\, you’ll have your own AR-15\, zeroed-in and ready to take home. \n\n\n\nThere are six different builds possible\, either rifle or pistol configuration. Also\, if you already have an AR-15\, you can bring it\, we’ll disassemble it and then you will build it back with the rest of the class. \n\n\n\nThe class is limited to 8 people.
