SUMMARY:Let's Make Root Beer the Old-Fashioned Way!
DESCRIPTION:Root beer is a distinctly American drink with a sweet\, herbal flavor that’s been made since the colonial era. \n\n\n\nTraditionally\, brewers made the drink by fermenting an herbal decoction made with sassafras bark\, sarsaparilla root\, and other herbs with sugar and yeast to make a naturally bubbly\, probiotic soft drink. \n\n\n\nSassafras\, sarsaparilla\, ginger root\, and birch all give the brew its distinctive flavor\, but without the additives. \n\n\n\n\nSassafras gives root beer its distinctive\, slightly mint-like flavor\, and is traditionally used to purify the blood in folk medicine.\n\n\n\nSarsaparilla is traditionally used as a renal tonic and for the complexion.\n\n\n\nGinger gives this root beer recipe a rich\, fiery note. Herbalists use ginger to support cardiovascular and metabolic health\, as well as for nausea and stomach upset.\n\n\n\nLicorice gives the recipe a subtle\, anise-like sweetness that pairs well with sassafras. Licorice also supports adrenal health\, and may be helpful in addressing hormonal imbalance in women.\n\n\n\nDandelion Root adds the subtlest bitter note to the brew. Dandelion root also supports liver health.\n\n\n\n\nWe will make a ginger bug (the life of the root beer!) and learn how to combine various herbs\, roots\, and barks to make this yummy and healthy elixir. \n\n\n\nWe get to sample some finished product\, plus everyone takes home a flip-top bottle of what we make in the class.

The course he will be teaching will be Gunshot Wound and Trauma First Aid Course\, based on TCCC protocols and the Council on Tactical Combat Casualty Care. Similar to those given to top law enforcement or military personnel. When asked how to describe the value and importance of this course he put it simply: “When seconds matter do you have the skills necessary to save a life?” \n\n\n\nIf you’ve been looking to acquire the skills necessary to save a life whether from injuries sustained from an active shooter\, negligent discharge on the range\, or car accident there will be something to take away for all experience levels. Then\, we’ll take a look at an online soap calculator\, which will allow us to plug in desired traits and get the exact measurements of the ingredients required. \n\n\n\nThen\, we will move to the soap lab and mix up our batch.
